Um, he has done a lot for the for the for Grant 1:46 County. And um I I didn't know Commissioner Middlesworth really well until he came into this position. I had obviously talked to him a little bit 1:54 when he was on the council. Uh but uh we lost a really really good man uh as far 2:01 as uh resigning his seat as commissioner. He's spending more time with his family, which uh I I've talked to him a couple times. He's he's doing really well and he's he's very happy. 2:12 Uh, so it's my hope that he gets some rest for a couple years and then throws his hat back in the ring because he's exactly the kind of person that you need 2:20 in in local government. EMA report. 3:36 I'm not anywhere near as good as Bob Jackson, but I do have his report. You You hold You hold your own. 3:43 Uh the Grand Canyon Department is currently deployed into Madison County um assisting with uh flood damage assessments. Uh they were deployed into 3:51 Fyet County Friday and returned on Saturday. Uh FEMA wanted us to let everybody know that currently there are 3:58 no FEMA representatives working in the county of Grant County. uh if anybody uh comes to their door at they're 4:06 representing FEMA, they should uh obviously get that reported to local law enforcement. Um and as far as storm damage here, we've only had a few people 4:14 report damage to their residents due to the flooding. So um we will report that to the state and then up to FEMA as 4:23 necessary and then for special dispatch report. 4:28 Sure. Um, so far this month we've uh had 3,225 4:35 phone calls. Um, 1,200 of those were 911 calls. I'm sorry, 13 of them were 911 4:43 calls. Um, we've had 4,776 police calls, uh, 391 fire calls. 4:52 We had, uh, uh, let's see here, 600 EMS calls. Uh, we called out EMA seven times and since dispatch handled 393 calls for service. 5:04 Any questions on that? I don't think so. 5:08 Okay. Um, I would like to ask permission for Marina and myself to travel to Jacksonville, Illinois. Not Florida, I wish. But hey, uh, for a conference on 5:17 uh, September 2nd, third 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, uh, is a 1-day conference, but it's a 6-hour drive one way. So, just got a couple items for you this morning. Um, I wanted to start with some updates. So, 6:48 I went ahead and with your gentleman's permission, we ordered the uh [clears throat] box for the uh third floor intercom system at the jail. So, 6:57 that's been ordered. Um the second item is uh uh there was some issues with the 7:05 uh admin lines over in the dispatch and uh turned out um the primary cause was 7:12 uh AT&T didn't clear out some old routes from the old system. So it was when 7:20 basically the hospital would try to call dispatch it would it just basically get a busy signal. So once AT&T went in 7:28 there and they cleared out all those routes and our vendor did a rebroadcast and that that fixed it. So we believe we 7:37 got all the worked out all the kinks in the new admin phone system over there. 7:43 So I just wanted to make you gentlemen aware of that. Uh the next item um we worked with uh Stanley and uh 7:51 maintenance and we got the uh doors fixed over at the D home. 7:56 [snorts] 7:56 There was a power supply that was that went out and [snorts] uh I work with maintenance and they helped me purchase 8:05 a replacement part and we was able to get that put in with Stanley's help and that system's uh back up and running cuz 8:13 before we had to we took a power supply from a control system for the like the elevator part and kind of had to rob here pay Paul to get the doors working. 8:24 But now everything's all good. Um the other thing that was brought to our attention was um Idax they are uh told 8:34 us our current setup for that system it's uh obsolete or not supported anymore. So they want to do a sight to 8:44 sight VPN tunnel and um that's something with our new firewall we can accommodate that but we do need um some additional IP 8:52 addressing. So that would be an additional purchase. So I'll talk about that in the next se section. 9:00 Um so the items for your review um I I believe I had it included. It was the an 9:08 updated quote for the um jail elevator camera. I spoke with um Paul from 9:15 Stanley Security. He's our rep and he he recommended that we provide the cable and he told me the cabling that we would 9:24 need uh to do that and he said um they would have their tax there to uh 9:32 help run the cable and the elevator shaft. 9:35 And um he also recommended um that we have Stanley on site because he was saying there he's seen where cameras had 9:44 issues in elevators before and sometimes it's not the cable. It could be an issue with equipment up on the elevator shaft 9:53 and he said he wants them there to inspect their equipment before they run it to try to save us that cost. 10:01 So, um, so that was the that was the update on that. Um, the second one, um, 10:08 we got a new AT&T rep and he reviewed our account and he noticed, uh, on our 10:15 main internet circuit, it was currently running an older plan. So, it's the way it's set up is we get 400 up, 400 down. 10:26 [snorts] and um he was saying um the way we currently have it set up and it's older, he said it's actually 10:34 cheaper to go a gig up and a gig down and it'll actually save us $13 a month 10:43 and I believe that was attached to your guys's package as well. you just sent like a it was like a simple one pager so 10:51 it sound like it was just a it'd be an addendum or add-on to the current agreement. 10:58 Okay. Yep. 11:01 And then this is just coming back to uh the first item or the previous item regarding IDAX. Uh so for the additional 11:10 IP addressing um they normally request uh $112, but he was saying they can get it 11:18 reduced down to $40 for those additional IP addresses for us. So if that's something we want to pursue, it' just be 11:26 an additional $40 a month charge on that. Okay. Um, so the final item I have 11:33 is uh basically to terminate the old internet and set trunk surface over at this building. So before our main 11:43 internet used to be housed here, but then we got the other one over at central dispatch. 11:49 Um, but the phone stuff still ran for dispatch off of that old internet circuit. So now that we got it moved off 11:57 onto the new system, we no longer need it. Um so they were telling us in order to disconnect it, um they said there 12:07 would be a termination fee and he said it was basically half the monthly billing cost uh multiplied by um the 12:16 number of months remaining which looks like 33. So it's about 16 uh,351. 12:25 [snorts] But normally, but if we were to continue paying, it would be like 30,000 if we were to continue going. 12:33 So, I just wanted to bring you your those items to your attention. Moving on to the highway department. 13:27 Mr. White morning. 13:50 Thank you sir. 14:10 First thing I was going to bring up today is this is a letter we received from the state a couple weeks ago where we [clears throat] awarded the federal 14:18 aid job on Branson Street for $7,870 $760. 14:27 Um, so that's quite a all estimated projects almost $10 million. So we've got to come up with 20% of the 14:36 construction plus pay all of the inspection and then we'll be in reimbursed of 80% of that. So this is 14:43 the one we've been trying for about four or five years on to get it bridge. 14:47 Yeah. So that whole bridge will be replaced all the way across the Minnesota River. So, uh, 14:55 yeah, it's a good accomplishment for Grant County. Sure is. It's a lot of money. 15:00 Yeah, I was going to say and they're redoing those apartment making them apartments and everything else downtown. 15:05 So, it's good timing. Yes. 15:08 So, glad to and we got a meeting tomorrow afternoon to start our quarterly reports with INDOT. So, we're getting the ball rolling on all that. 15:19 So, that'll be uh quite a project. So, I was going to update you. We did get all the uh dirt haul for the FOP that 15:28 you gave us permission and actually even got the check for the fuel today. So, we've got paid for that. That's all taken care of. Uh the next thing I was 15:38 going to bring up was we have a price quote from T A WA Mulch Company [clears throat] of 15:48 Ohio. to grind our compost out at the recycle center for $5,465. 15:57 So, I'd like to go ahead and do that if that's all right with you, gentlemen. Sounds good. 16:02 Uh the ARPA money for the recycle Marty gave me approval on that. So, I've already got that ordered and um started 16:10 the process of that. So, that's all taken care of. 16:15 Um, still like the community crossing grant is supposed to open September 1st to the 16:23 end of September. I'd like to apply for [snorts] bridge 791 here in Marion on 14th Street. I just want to make sure you gentlemen are all right with that. 16:32 And at the next meeting, I'll probably have to get your signature saying that we'll come up with our half of the portion uh to get that bridge replaced 16:41 on there, too. So, we're working on that. 17:22 I do have an unofficial detour with the state. Um, for State Road 18, 17:29 uh, I recommended that we use 600 West to 200 north back down to 700 West. This 17:36 is a 45day closure. They're redoing the deck on the bridge over right there by Pike Creek Senior uh, Stone where he 17:44 used to be. We're getting all the paving projects done. So, we're working on that. 18:57 CR's got me some prices on pickup trucks that we're wanting to replace. Um, we had a quote from Ford that met our 19:05 specs. Uh, they have two current ones they can get right now. One is for $55,851. 19:14 The other one is for $59,4. 19:19 They have uh price quotas on two that they could have built, but they are approximately 10 weeks out. If we can 19:28 still get it in a timely manner, um we got to check on that, but the current price of those is 48,49420. 19:38 And then we have a price quote from Mike Anderson Chevrolet in Gas City, Indiana. 19:45 Uh $55,19520 per vehicle and we'd like to purchase 19:53 two. Um and then trade in. Um, we've got quote on that from Mike Anderson since 20:01 it's the lower one uh for uh one truck that we was looking to trade 20:08 in 2019 Ford for 25,000 and a 2018 Dodge Ram for 19,000. But I'd like to hold on 20:17 them right now because I want to work [clears throat] with Mike about trade maybe one of his in one of ours kind of thing if that's all right. So, 20:25 what was that very first quote that you uh the first one was forward for two they have in stock um $55,851 20:35 and the other one that's on a lot was $59,04. 20:41 So I guess I would say is what I'd like to do is if you give me permission to buy the forge for 48494 20:50 if they can be built within the next 8 to 10 weeks. If they cannot be built into that then I guess I'd like to go 20:58 with the Chevys for the 55 192 or 19520 21:05 if that's all right. So yeah, sounds good. Um oh, I kind of like to do whatever's the quickest cuz um we got 21:19 two trucks we're going to get to EMA and Bobb's I guess had one hit a deer, one was in an accident. They said rough estimates like 27:36 $5,000 for 4x6 postcards with all the information printed on it, mailing, address, and postage. So, um, in essence, he's volunteering to take care 38:09 of all the deductibles or lower his his amount by 2500 so that we would have no 38:17 out of pocket cost for at least that many vehicles. Let's say there's um they assess a $10,000 damage to the vehicle. 40:28 We Grant County have to pay um that $10,000 bill, but insurance is only going to reimburse us 7,500 of that 40:36 $10,000 bill. This gentleman and his business has said that I will not charge you $10,000. I will charge you 7,500. 40:44 So, we still get we get the reimbursement from the insurance company.
