Election of president and vice president. ===== page 2 ===== SPECIAL MEETING ~ MARION COMMON COUNCIL -— January 6, 2026 — 6:00 P.M. — CITY HALL The Common Council of the City of Marion, Indiana met in a special session on TUESDAY, the 6th day of January 2026, at the hour of 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall. On the call of the roll the members were shown to be present or absent as follows: Present: Cain, Marshall, Fordyce, Brunner, Cline, Devine, Whitton, Cowgill, and McKinley Absent: NOMINATION FOR PRESIDENT David Cain nominated Brian Cowgill for president. Mike Cline nominated Gary Fordyce for president. Votes were as follows: Cowgill: Cain, Marshall, Brunner, Devine, Cowgill, McKinley Fordyce: Fordyce, Cline, Whitton Brian Cowgill was voted in as council president for 2026. NOMINATION FOR VICE PRESIDENT David Cain nominated Erika Devine for vice president. Mike Cline nominated Gary Fordyce for vice president. Gary Fordyce respectfully declined the nomination.
