Poling Investigation: “You are merely the caretaker of the buildings”
Grant County has released a 30-page internal investigation report about Commissioner Chuck Poling and referred it to state and federal authorities. The title is what the county clerk told the investigator she said to him in her office on July 1, 2025, after he said, in her account, that he owned the buildings: "Chuck, you do not own the buildings, the people own buildings, you are merely the caretaker of the buildings." Here is what each section says, with every claim opening the page of the report, the witness's own transcript or the exhibit it rests on, and what it does and does not settle.
